Alone in the Cabin

I was unable to quite make the deadline for the game jam this was built for, however I am uploading what I had. After the scoring has ended I will continue to fix bugs that pop up; and, a real heavy maybe on this one, perhaps flesh out the --innumerous-- half-baked components.

I built this game from only Python and PyGame (for graphics, OpenGL is too far beyond my comprehension at the moment), it was made for the 2024 Nokia 3310 Jam 6. In truth, I bit off much more than I could chew and was unable to add everything I wanted and envisioned (Helldivers 2 certainly helped there none), however I was able to get most systems up to at least a proof of concept, and if not represented in some way throughout the game.

Default controls are:

• Enter: Space or Enter
• Escape: Backspace or Escape
• Move Left/Interact Left: A  or Left Arrow
• Move Right/Interact Right: D or Right Arrow
• Move Up/Interact Up: W or Up Arrow
• Move Down/Interact Down: S or Down Arrow

Important things to know:

1. You can access you're inventory while looking at the door by pressing Move Up.
2. You can equip items while in the inventory screen by pressing Move Left.
3. You can view item description and other info by pressing Move Right in the inventory screen.
4. You can cancel the radar alarm by pressing Move Down while looking a the furnace screen
5. You can advance faster while outside by pressing Move Up or Move Down

Known bugs:

1. On the windows build text boxes don't display correctly
2. On the windows build it appears all text is IN CAPS where it shouldn't be
3. Crash on both builds after the plane animation, this unfortunately makes the "end" of the game unattainable at the moment
